Study of Time 100

I am required to do a research project for the women in media class I am taking this quarter. I am excited about the topic I chose and feel the data may be quite useful.

The project requires students to choose some form of women in media to track, analyze, and then report about. I chose to study Time Magazine's annual publishing of the 100 Most Influential People. There have been 5 of these lists published in the past, giving me a good amount of data to work with. I am going to compare the number of influential women listed to the number of influential men. In my comparison I will include the way the influential women were written about, as opposed to how the men were written about. I will also try to determine if there is an dominant field in which women are more influential. If I have enough time, I would also like to include the percentage of women contributors to the article, as each author of influential individuals is different.

Gathering the data and preparing a paper and presentation should take up a large amount of my time. I should begin working on this ASAP, as the due date is in 3 weeks and I have yet to start working on the project!
