Holiday Update

I am back in California now. It has been a while since I posted; I didn't spend much time on the internet when I was in Kansas, I was too busy visiting my family and friends!

I had a wonderful time in Kansas. Christmas with my family was great. We had a wonderful dinner and laughed a lot. Shan came in Christmas night so I went to Wichita to pick him up. New Years was lively. Shan and I went with my parents to a party their friends were hosting. It was a pub quiz party and the guests who attended were of a wide range of ages. Our team didn't win the competition, but we had a splendid time.

The weather in Kansas was very strange. It was very cold when I first got there, but surprisingly it warmed up for a few days during my visit. One day the thermometer read close to 70*, breaking the record high for that day. Then, a few days later, there were flurries of snow falling from the sky. That's Kansas!

Now I am back to California. My quarter started yesterday and I am excited about the classes I am taking. The Spanish class I enrolled in was cancelled. I went online to enroll for a different section of the course, but none of them worked with my schedule. I had to resort to taking it online. I am a bit concerned that I won't get as much out of the course because it won't be conversational; hopefully I can decrease my concerns by continuing my language exchange with Andrea and maybe even meeting more often.

I received my grades from my first quarter at CSUEB - All A's (2 A-'s and 3 A's). Not bad at all for what was a difficult quarter of classes and new adjustments. I plan to continue with high marks this quarter.

To all my family in Kansas: It was great seeing you! I miss you already!

To my friends I visited with: It was also great seeing you, although I am quite jealous that you all still have at least 2 weeks of your break left! Lucky you! :)
